Western Sydney is where Jirah Carpentry is based, and where most of our work sits. From established suburbs like Parramatta, Merrylands and Blacktown to the rapidly growing communities around The Ponds, Gables, Marsden Park, Camden and Campbelltown, this is where we spend most of our time building.
The work here is residential framing carpentry: wall, floor and roof frames for new houses, duplexes and secondary dwellings, plus the structural carpentry side of renovations and extensions. We quote off your plans, give you a start window we can actually hold, and frame to the engineer's drawings.

Two very different building patterns in one region
Western Sydney is really two building markets sitting next to each other. The established suburbs — Parramatta, Blacktown, Fairfield, St Marys — are older houses on generous blocks. What happens to those blocks is either a knockdown-rebuild, a subdivision with a duplex on it, or a house that stays and gains a secondary dwelling out the back.
Then there are the newer release areas to the north-west — Marsden Park, Riverstone, Schofields — where whole streets are framed at once and the house is one of a run of similar designs. The carpentry is the same discipline, but the pressure sits in a different place: on the older blocks it is access and working around what already exists, and on the estates it is program and repeatability.
Being a carpenter in Western Sydney means being able to switch between those two modes without dropping standards on either. A duplex frame on a narrow Blacktown lot needs the setout checked twice before a plate is fixed. A greenfield house frame needs the same accuracy delivered on a date somebody has already promised to a client.
What we frame across the west
Our scope runs from the subfloor to the ridge — bearers and joists, wall plates, studs, noggings and lintels, then trusses or a stick-built roof, plus bracing and tie-down to the engineering documentation. Structural beams and posts go in as part of the same package.

Plans first, timber second
Every job starts on the documentation. We read the architectural set and the engineering together, and if something does not reconcile — a beam with nowhere to land, a bracing panel drawn through a window opening — you hear about it before we frame it. That conversation takes an hour. Skipping it costs a rectification and a delay nobody budgeted for.
On site, the setout gets checked against the drawings before wall frames are stood, and checked again for square and plumb before final fixing. When the frame is finished we walk it with you, because that is the last moment an adjustment is cheap.
We are direct about timing. If we cannot start when you need us, we say so rather than book the job and push it. Builders in this region are running stacked programs, and a framer who quietly slips two weeks causes more damage than one who is honest up front.
Builders, developers and owner-builders
Most of our Western Sydney work comes from builders and small developers who need a framing crew they can hand a set of plans to. Some of it comes directly from owners doing a knockdown-rebuild or adding to a house they intend to stay in. Both are welcome, and the process is the same either way.
